In 2024, the new Proton Center will be ready at Bergen University Hospital, a building that can offer cancer patients across the country a new and more gentle treatment. In collaboration with Veidekke AS, Foamrox has installed a transport tunnel that will transport patients between Haukeland University Hospital and the Proton Center; a project that places high demands on quality.
Foamrox solutions, which are an environmentally friendly alternative to concrete, are not only EI60 approved, but are also light in weight, making them easy to install. With ready-made elements mounted on a rail system, it has been quick and easy to get the 225m long tunnel in place.
Foamrox materials weigh over 90% less than the concrete alternative, making the solution HSE-friendly. In addition, you save over 50% on CO2 emissions compared to traditional concrete solutions. The tunnel has been installed manually, without the help of heavy machinery, and the lightweight panels are easy to transport to the installation site.
Project manager at Veidekke, Jim D. Skålevik, says he is very satisfied with the delivery. Both product quality and workmanship are in accordance with the agreement and he sees the potential for using the Foamrox product in future projects as well.
