The results show a significant environmental improvement in terms of, among other things, "GWP - Global Warming Potential" in the production phase, with lower CO2-emissions for raw materials, transport and production (A1-A3). The Environmental Declaration has been prepared in collaboration with NIRAS Norge AS.
"Foamrox places sustainability at the forefront and we are continuously working to improve both our production processes and products to promote a more environmentally friendly construction industry. Our goal has always been to offer greener alternatives to the construction, civil engineering and tunneling market, and this improvement of an already environmentally friendly product is a step in the right direction."
Glenn A. Jakobsen, CEO of Foamrox AS
EPD stands for "Environmental Product Declaration" in English, or "Miljødeklarasjon" in Norwegian, and is a document that provides quantified information about how a product affects the environment throughout its entire life cycle. This makes it possible to compare the environmental impact of different products in an objective way.
An EPD provides transparent and detailed information to customers who want to make informed choices based on a product's environmental performance and enables the environmental impact of different products to be compared in a fair way.
In many markets, especially in the construction sector, EPDs are becoming increasingly important as part of purchasing requirements and helping businesses and consumers make more environmentally friendly choices.
An EPD is often required to meet environmental standards and certification schemes, such as BREEAM and LEED.
