What is Foamrox?

Technical building in Foamrox elements

Are there alternatives to concrete?

Foamrox is a product that helps reduce CO2 emissions and improve HSE, but what exactly is Foamrox?

The main component is foam glass, i.e., recycled glass, while the exterior is coated with a material that makes it so strong it serves as an excellent alternative to concrete in non-load-bearing structures.

Since the raw material is 100% recycled glass, the solution also contributes to the circular economy. This, combined with the product's low weight, results in very low greenhouse gas emissions during production, transport, and installation compared to traditional building materials.

It has been proven that using Foamrox in tunnel and road projects reduces CO2 emissions by at least 50%, with potential for further improvement.

Weighs 10% of concrete

The product has several advantages; it weighs only 1/10th of concrete, allowing for easy manual installation without heavy machinery. This improves HSE in the workplace.

Foamrox elements offer a significant time-saving benefit: as soon as the building is installed, it is immediately ready for use, without having to wait for drying. This allows for faster installation of components like electrical equipment.

The material is insulating, provides passive fire protection, and is certified to fire class EI60.

Foamrox elements can often replace concrete

We have delivered solutions for various tunnel projects in Norway, including:
